Each risk management program is designed for the individual client profile, always taking into account the fact that each and every client is unique. CRM ensures that the services it provides are adapted to each individual’s specific needs, with one main objective, to safeguard the insured goods through an innovative and effective consulting and loss control service.
CRM permanently has payroll officers located in ports and airports in Colombia’s major cities, as well as a network of partners situated in America and Europe. These officers carry out physical inspections of the state of the goods (pallets, stowage, crates, containers, boxes and/or packages, vehicles, etc.).
Similarly, the staff perform inspections of the loading and unloading maneuvers of the ship, as well as of the vehicles that transfer the different loads to the customs warehouses, free zones or final destinations.
The inspectors take a photographic record during each of the various stages of the process, if it is possible. These records will include the general characteristics of the merchandise, the supporting documents according to the means of transport (maritime, air, river or land) and any observations.
As part of its additional risk administration services, CRM provides the following consultancy:
Strategic Road Safety Plan
CRM accompanies and advises the entire development process of the client´s strategic road safety plan, and also performs a follow-up based on the regulations administered by the Ministry of Transport on Highway Transport Prevention and Safety policies. In accordance with Resolution 1565 of June 6th 2014 and Decree 1079 of May 26th 2015.
Authorized Economic Operator
Between accompanying clients, the Administrative and Operative staff conduct different trainings, which apply to the standards. The trainings are implemented through the information systems that CRM offers to the Risk Administration program. These trainings are applicable to some of the matters to be evaluated within both the BASC standard and AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) certification processes.
A process which verifies the condition of the electrical facilities in the whole operation, establishes the temperature at which the facilities function and determines whether or not there are any anomalies in the resistance of the components. Thermography also confirms whether there is a rise in the currents circulating through the conductors and if they present any risk to the general operation.
Hydrostatic tests to the Fire Protection System
The fire protection system is a set of equipment which is integrated into the building’s structure, that works to relieve any event of a fire. These tests make it possible to establish the water circulation capacity, the maintenance status, and the cleanliness of the terminal points.
Specific Analysis of High-Risk Operations
Considering that there are companies which have various critical processes in their operations so that it is possible to yield a high incidence of damage and thefts, CRM implements an inspection of each and every sub-process in the logistics chain of the goods. This process allows CRM to detect where losses may be caused and thus propose initiatives to control them.
Implementation of Shock and Impact Sensors
These sensors allow one to determine if the goods have been handled in the correct manner or, on the contrary, have suffered blows during their transport. With this system, CRM intends to considerably reduce the quantity of damaged goods produced during transport and handling. These types of proceedings have additional benefits, as they:
CRM applies this strategy as part of its risk intelligence program, with the aim of generating recommendations and protocols for the handling of certain types of goods.
Immersion in Operations
This analysis seeks to identify bad practices during the loading, unloading and storing of goods. To do this, CRM immerses its specialized personnel into the warehouses at times where there is a high operation volume. During this process, the personnel are able to observe the handling and management of the cargo discretely, without the client’s operating staff knowing that they are doing so. The significance of this process is to identify the possible bad practices during storage, which could be causing damage.
Risk Analysis in Carparks
This analysis identifies the most exposed variables from the risk analysis and exposure identification. CRM then enforces a work plan for the control and correction of the evidence found throughout the assessment.
Given that there are goods that are considered high-risk, either due to their value, properties, storage or transport conditions, CRM provides a space of technical enquiries to its clients, so that, through this service, they can share key recommendations to minimize loss of goods.
CRM relies on adjustment personnel who specialized in the transportation sector, who carry out, an investigation of the causes of loss through an inspection, a study of the coverage of the policy according to the circumstances surrounding the event, the nature of the event, and the compensable amount aligned to the insurance contract. The specialized personnel then formulate recommendations to avoid future recurrences, and to manage and conserve salvage. All information relating to claims administration is available in the Claims Report System web tool.
CRM offers a comprehensive program of workshops, coaching, and operative and administrative training modules. Initially it consists of 23 different subjects which include modes of operation, casuistry, and other subjects related to the storage sector, transport, and the risks involved along the logistics chain.
One of the Risk Administration and Loss Prevention strategy’s pillars is the transfer of knowledge and experience through training clients, with the objective that they themselves might identify and control the risks involved in their operations.
These types of inspections are implemented in order to identify damage in the warehouse rooves, as well as problems in the gutters and drainpipes, which could affect the stored goods.
Training in integral management of logistics risk
Train your work teams with courses in logistics and insurable risk management.
Evaluate and measure the impact of the training through the questionnaires and certificates available in each module.
The courses and contents are available 24/7 from any mobile device with access.
